After much brainstorming and creative day-dreaming, Yellow Hippie is finally here. As if I didn't have enough to do with all of our other many business I felt the need to start up another hobby. The inspiration started with a few tie-dyed onesies. I was helping throw a baby shower for my dear friend (who happens to also be a tie-dye lover) and the onesies were part of our decor. They were a hit. I decided if I was going to go for it with the tie-dying onesie business some thing would need to change. I love tie dye, but I also love being organic and environmentally friendly. For a while, my style of tie dye was not either of those things... Instead it was whatever brand of shirt was cheapest at Target meets whatever die I found at Hobby Lobby. Oh those were the days...but not anymore. All Yellow Hippie products start with organic cotton material (in some cases, even recycled cotton!) and the die is from Sunburst or home-made. The blog will be for sharing organic tie-dying tips as well as other random organic and eco-friendly ideas. For a while I was living a wanna-be organic life. I think I still am, but I'm hoping to get better at it. Hopefully this blog will inspire me to try harder and maybe, just maybe, a few of you readers as well.

We currently only carry baby and toddler clothes but we are quickly working to expand. 20% of the profits will be donated to refugees in the Dallas/Fort Worth area via Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth. I use to work for Catholic Charities and it is an incredible organization. I still volunteer with refugee services, so I may even blog a little about that and the garden projects we are working on there.
